Whether you are a student, teacher, parent, voter of any persuasion, content creator, content consumer, caregiver, therapist, significant other, sibling or friend, listening is key. Join us and connect around the theme of actively listening with your heart and mind as well as your ears.
SERIES OVERVIEW We all deserve the connection that comes with listening. That includes the like-minded, the different-minded, youth, elders and those with special needs. Not only does listening make us feel seen and heard, it also allows us to connect, learn, understand… and ultimately, to use our voice more authentically and effectively.
FORMAT FOR THIS SERIES In each of the four sessions of this Fall Screening Salon Series, Featured Guest Erahm Christopher, a filmmaker, social strategist and speaker with a global presence will be with us. Along with talk time before and after viewing his screened content, we will be able to continue to connect in the Community Feed. In the future, we'll also have dedicated online forums created specifically for continued conversation.
SCREENED CONTENT Erahm’s work will lead the way, and ripples are sure to follow. His screened content will include scripted, documentary and animated films as well as a Public Service Announcement which was created for release on social media platforms in the two weeks prior to Election Day. A filmmaker and social strategist on the national and global stage, Erahm has reached over eight million people with his action-provoking content. He has personally presented to over one million people around the world, producing connections, healing and lasting behavior changes in diverse organizations, including some of the most dangerous schools across North America. His feature film, LISTEN was the catalyst for a nationwide mental health initiative.
Erahm’s work includes collaborations with the federal government, state governments, non-profits, pro-athletes and corporations across the US, Canada and Europe. OUR LANGUAGE SSR is about discovery, learning and connection, so you'll see words like series, salon, course and lesson. We intentionally use the word "salon" because that's what we are, but in a contemporary way. The majority time in our gatherings is spent talking among us... not being "talked at" by the screen or a speaker. That's what salons used to be and that's the experience we bring to you.
Our goal is to provide options and a setting for information and experiences intersect with personal and professional endeavors.
For those who choose to participate, if you sign in, you become a Follower and can participate in the Community Forum.
Our Members have access to all our programming and more by subscribing to a plan. With their membership, they also participate in a separate Members Forum.
ABOUT SSR SCREENING SALONS Each online salon lasts two hours, with about an hour and a half with the group actively engaging in talk time. This occurs before and after watching screened content, which serves as a bridge to our conversations. At SSR Gatherings, every participant, including Christine and her Featured Guests, add their unique ingredients into the mix. No one is expected to be an expert on the topic, on film... or even in life. These salons are about experiencing, sharing and gaining new insights in an open, collaborative and genuine setting. In addition to the actual gatherings, the Community Feed is where conversations can continue through your posts and replies. In the future, look for private dedicated online forums created specifically for gathering participants.
